I am a researcher studying venoms. I have over 8 years of experience working with snake venoms, understanding their complexity using mass spectrometry. Right now, I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Evolutionary Venomics Lab, led by Prof. Kartik Sunagar, at the Centre for Ecological Sciences in Bengaluru.
My work focuses on developing antivenom therapies, testing their efficacy, and leveraging proteomics to study venom diversity. I have done my graduation from Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad, where I looked at variation in venoms of Echis carinatus (saw-scaled viper). I have had a short stint at antivenom manufacturing industry-VINS Bioproducts Ltd. where I got to know the commercial side of the venom field.
Outside of my work, I love being out in nature. I also enjoy reading about economics, history, and philosophy to understand the world in a better way. Check out my reading list here. I usually spend my weekends on hikes clicking pictures of random insects, trees, fungi and figuring out more about them.
Through my research, I hope to advance scientific understanding of venoms, ultimately contributing to better antivenom treatments and public health strategies.
